Swiss side confirm interest

Swiss club Young Boys have confirmed their interest in signing Inverness Caledonian Thistle star Adam Rooney. The Irish striker has been hugely impressive this season with 14 goals, and both Russian side Kuban Krasnodar and Hibernian have made moves. Now Young Boys have confirmed their intention to join the bidding. "Yes, I have been watching Rooney," Young Boys coach Stephane Chapuisat confirmed to the Scottish Sun. "I was in Glasgow to watch him and another player in the game with Rangers. "Rooney is a good striker but he is one of a number of players we are watching right now. "We are not looking to take him now - it would be for next season. "Rooney has talent and I will watch him again." Meanwhile, Inverness boss Terry Butcher is already looking at potential Rooney replacements - one of which is Raith Rovers ace Gregory Tade. "I have spoken to Gregory Tade's agent, but then I've spoken to quite a few agents about players recently," he stated. "He is out of contract at the end of the season and I remember he did well against us during the previous campaign. "All that's happened just now, however, is I just talked to the agent. I'm not really convinced by the whole pre-contract issue. Although nothing is happening with Adam Rooney just now, we have to prepare and put plans in place in case something does."
