Preston North End have extended the loan deal of Burnley defender Leon Cort until the end of the season.

Brown pleased with defender's contribution at Deepdale

Preston North End have extended the loan deal of Burnley defender Leon Cort until the end of the season. Cort has made five appearances for the Championship's bottom club since moving to Deepdale on an initial month-long loan in November. He has now prolonged his time with Preston for the remainder of the campaign and manager Phil Brown is happy to be keeping the 31-year-old. "It's been done until the end of the season," Brown told the Evening Post. "Leon knows what his strength is, that is being a big presence at the back. "He has taken to the system I've introduced very quickly."
