Wigan midfielder James McCarthy has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the clash with Wales next week.
The 20-year-old earns a place in the 22-man party for the Nations Cup tie at the Aviva Stadium next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Birmingham midfielder Keith Fahey and Celtic striker Anthony Stokes have been placed on standby by manager Giovanni Trapattoni.
Scotland, Republic of Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland will compete in the tournament which is a round-robin format.
