Trotters boss expects big impact from on-loan striker

Owen Coyle claimed Daniel Sturridge proved why Bolton Wanderers were so keen to bring him to the Reebok Stadium after scoring the winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Trotters boss saw his January transfer signing come off the bench to net a last-gasp goal to help his new club to a first win on home soil since Boxing Day. Bolton were helped on their way to their first victory in five Premier League games as Ronald Zubar teed up his opponent in the last minute of injury time. But Coyle felt his side more than warranted maximum points as they leapt to eighth in the table.

Travesty

The Whites manager told Sky Sports HD: "It was no more than we deserved because we missed opportunities all night and Hennessey was outstanding. "I felt it would have been a travesty if we didn't win three points tonight." Goalscorer Sturridge has joined Bolton on loan from Chelsea for the rest of the season after playing a bit-part role at Stamford Bridge. And Coyle, who made full use of Arsenal's Jack Wilshere in a similar deal last season, expects the 21-year-old to have a big impact in Lancashire. "We knew he could have an impact and he's shown his impact with the goal," added Coyle. "He's a natural finisher and it was a terrific finish and a great way to finish the match."
