Ronald Zubar will retain his place in Wolverhampton Wanderers' starting XI against Manchester United, Mick McCarthy has confirmed.
McCarthy has decided not to omit the French defender despite his gaffe at Bolton Wanderers on Wednesday.
Zubar's horror backpass in the last minute of added time allowed Daniel Sturridge to score the winner for the Trotters.
But McCarthy has revealed the 25-year-old right-back will start against Premier League leaders United this weekend.
"Zubey is playing tomorrow," the Wolves boss told the club's official website.
"Of course I had thoughts about the situation and we had a conversation today. But he has been terrific for us and a top player since coming into the team.
"Providing he's okay, and having chatted to him I know he is, then I'm not going to leave him out on the back of a mistake.
"He's one of our players and we support him like we always do.
"I wanted to kill him on Wednesday night but he's one of our players and he runs around and puts a shift in and he will play tomorrow."
Several other members of the Wolves squad had strong words with Zubar after the defeat at the Reebok - and the boss admits he would have been disappointed if they had not.
But that quickly turns to support from all concerned as Wolves move on to the visit of United on Saturday.
"I wouldn't have been happy if the lads hadn't reacted to it," added McCarthy.
"But is he the only one who have ever made a mistake? I don't think so.
"There is only one bloke who has never made a mistake and we know what happened to him.
"We are all fallible and likely to make a mistake at some stage. And when it happens you don't just cast him out aside and it's done or do you support him and try and get the best out of him.
"In doing that, in supporting him, I believe I will get the best out of him."
