Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has advised rookie striker Chris Maguire to stay at the club and learn his trade.
The 22-year-old marksman is out of contract this summer and has already been offered a new deal to remain at Pittodrie.
He is recognised as one of the brightest talents north of the border and this was highlighted further by him acquiring a Scotland cap last month against Northern Ireland.
Yet, Brown feels Maguire should resist all attempts to cash in on his talents now and develop them further.
"I've impressed upon him that Aberdeen will give him the best offer that they can but it shouldn't solely be about money at his age," he said.
"There is a much improvement capability here to get right into the Scotland team, score some gaols and then he will be wanted by everyone.
"He doesn't want to make, in my opinion, an intermediate move before the move of his career. I've told him that and I think he's listening.
"I've seen them over the years and I think the right move is when you're an established international player scoring goals at the top level and you will be in huge demand.
"That would be my recommendation to Chris."
