Blackpool defender Neal Eardley fully expects Charlie Adam to fulfil his dream of playing for one of the Premier League's biggest clubs.
The Scotland international requested a transfer from Bloomfield Road in January and attracted interest from several of the Seasiders' top-flight rivals, including Liverpool and Tottenham.
However, a move failed to materialise as Blackpool held firm to retain the services of their talismanic midfielder.
Adam has been in such fine form this season that Eardley is delighted he will be staying until at least the end of the season, but feels certain his team-mate will get the move he desires at some stage.
"Charlie played a massive part in us getting promoted," said Eardley, currently preparing for Wales' Carling Nations Cup clash with Republic of Ireland on Tuesday night.
"I think he scored 19 goals last season from midfield, which is excellent, and he has proved again this season what a massive player he is for us.
"We have done well to keep him but I am sure Charlie will get his move in the summer or whenever because he is good enough to play for one of the big clubs.
"But for now he is still a Blackpool player and hopefully he can continue to play at his best between now and the end of the season."
Blackpool have slipped perilously close to the relegation zone following a run of five straight defeats, but Eardley maintains that morale in the camp is still high.
He said: "We have not had the best of runs but at our place once one game is done it's straight on to the next one, we don't dwell on things.
"There's never a quiet moment with us but we need to do the right things and keep ourselves in the Premier League."
