Diego Milito has been struck down by injury and will miss Inter Milan's UEFA Champions League date with Bayern Munich.
The Argentine striker was inspirational in Inter's European campaign last season, with his two goals in the final against Bayern helping the Italian giants claim the crown.
He will, however, be missing when that rivalry is resumed in the last 16 of the 2010/11 competition.
A hamstring strain is set to keep Milito sidelined, forcing him to sit out the first leg of the crunch clash on 23rd February.
The South American has been dogged by niggling knocks this season, with his latest twinge coming in Sunday's 5-3 victory over Roma.
He has been out of action for around a month on each of the previous occasions he has suffered a strain, suggesting he could now be missing until early March.
Inter coach Leonardo admits the news of Milito's injury comes as a blow to his plans, but has assured the forward that he remains an integral part of the set-up at Giuseppe Meazza.
"Diego mustn't worry about what has happened," said the Brazilian coach.
"He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone.
"He knows how important he is for Inter. All he has to do is relax and concentrate on making a good recovery."
