Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel is already fielding offers from around the globe, skysports.com understands.
The USA international is still considered one of the Premier League's finest performers.
And despite being 39 he has always proved his fitness by only missing a handful of games in the last decade, indeed in January this year he surpassed 250 consecutive leagues outings.
Friedel's current deal is set to expire in the summer and the player's representative Tony McGill has held discussions with the Midlands club.
However, he has confirmed that teams from across Europe further afield have been in touch.
"We are obviously not waiting until the end of the season to discuss Brad's future and I have held talks with a number of clubs," McGill told skysports.com.
"The interest is widespread and it is not a major shock given Brad's experience and his continuing high-level of performance week-in, week-out in the Premier League.
"Brad has not made any decisions about what he wants to do, so I would say we are not ruling anything out at this stage."
While clubs from Spain, Italy, Germany, France and Turkey are believed to be leading the chase, there is also interest coming from England.
And Friedel could yet remain at Villa beyond this season.
"As I said, we are not saying 'no' to anybody, and we are not going to rule Villa out of the equation," McGill said.
"Villa more than anyone have seen how reliable Brad is and how his fitness levels are quite extraordinary.
"I have no doubts that Brad still has a number of years left at the top-level of the game, and judging by the interest in him thus far I am not alone in having that opinion."
