Tottenham match-winner Peter Crouch feels his side's 1-0 UEFA Champions League victory over AC Milan was fully deserved.
After looking the better side in a slow first half at the San Siro on Tuesday night, Spurs finally broke the deadlock through an 80th-minute strike from Crouch to seal the win.
The striker made the most of a storming run from Aaron Lennon to roll home a tidy finish from close range.
And Crouch hailed the result as a 'fantastic achievement' as Spurs now look ahead to the second leg of the last-16 clash at White Hart Lane next month.
He said: "It was a great game of football, I thought we deserved the win in the end.
"I thought we limited them to not many chances and I think we were the better side. It's a fantastic achievement.
"I just had to keep up with Azza (Lennon) at the end!"
Lennon, who did superbly to evade Milan defender Mario Yepes and pick out Crouch, was equally delighted with the result.
He added: "When I beat the first defender and saw Crouchy was free I was always going to put it across to him."
Spurs' victory was tainted by angry scenes at the final whistle when Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso head-butted Joe Jordan having clashed with the Tottenham coach earlier in the encounter.
Crouch says he also had words with the hot-headed midfielder during the match, adding on Sky Sports 2: "He always seems to get involved, he got involved with me as well as Joe Jordan."
