Teenage midfielder to see out the season at Glanford Park

Abdi Ibrahim is to see out the remainder of the season at Scunthorpe after having his loan deal extended. The 19-year-old Manchester City starlet joined the Iron on an initial one-month deal in January. He has, however, impressed greatly during his short time at Glanford Park and the Iron have moved to retain his services. The Norway U21 international has made four appearances for the club so far, catching the eye of manager Ian Baraclough. He will now form part of Scunthorpe's survival bid as they attempt to steer clear of trouble in the Championship.

Exit

While Ibrahim will not be returning to Eastlands any time soon, Jamie Murphy is another to have be ushered through the exits. City's head of physiotherapy has parted company with the club after being deemed surplus to requirements. He was appointed by former Blues boss Mark Hughes, but is reported to have fallen out with current boss Roberto Mancini over the club's early-season injury problems. City confirmed his departure in a short statement, saying: "We would like to thank Jamie for all his hard work and endeavour during his time at the football club and wish him every success in his future career."
