Napoli midfielder sets sights on Serie A title

Marek Hamsik has admitted he feels the 'burden' of expectation after being linked with some of the biggest clubs in Europe. The Slovakian playmaker committed his future to Napoli in September by signing a new contract that runs until 2015. However, there continues to be speculation over a big-money move elsewhere, with the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid all reportedly still monitoring his progress. Hamsik insists he is growing tired of the transfer talk as he is happy at Napoli and just wants to help the club achieve as much as possible. Napoli are currently second in the Serie A standings, three points behind leaders AC Milan, and Hamsik has set his sights on the title. "Speaking of the Scudetto is not risky. I think there will be a challenge between three teams until the end of the season," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Exciting

"With Inter Milan and Milan there is Napoli too, and we are demonstrating it with our results. "I cannot wait to win something but even reaching the Champions League would be an exciting result. "Our fans are incredible. They wait outside the sports centre after every training session and they repeat the same thing: 'You cannot leave Napoli. "And what do I say to them? Nothing, I don't reply. "The requests from top clubs are almost a burden, because I always have to prove my talent. "But today Napoli is my city. The bond will remain strong forever, whatever my future career may be."
