Manchester City attacker David Silva is 'convinced' his side will finish in the Premier League's top four this season.
City are currently third in the table with 49 points from 27 games but face tough competition if they are going to break into the UEFA Champions League spots.
Roberto Mancini's men have looked a strong outfit this term but aside from the top two of Manchester United and Arsenal, the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea are set to push them all the way.
Spurs pipped them to the post last season but Spain midfielder Silva, 25, is confident of success this time around.
"I am optimistic and I would bet on City's presence in the top four at the end of the season," he said in The People.
"If we stay at this standard of football, then we deserve to be in the Champions League - but we still need to make sure we get there.
"It's normal that we want to play in the Champions League and now I think it is just a question of time. I am convinced our chance will arrive next season.
"Our challenge at the start of this season was to get into the top four and fight for the title.
"We haven't given up hope of that and third place will be the minimum for us.
"If we analyse the table then our battle for third is with Tottenham. Any mistake by Spurs is good for us, but the situation is in our own hands."
City are still competing in the Europa League and, following a 0-0 draw with Greek side Aris Salonika in their first leg last 16 clash, Silva believes they can go all the way in the competition.
"The Europa League is the second most important competition in Europe and winning the trophy would be sensational," he added.
"Our objective is to play in the final. Of course, it is not the Champions League but it serves as a good grounding for the next experience."
