Wigan winger Charles N'Zogbia admits he has used the club as a springboard to bigger things next season.
The Frenchman has become arguably the Latics' most important player under Roberto Martinez in the last two years, shaking off an inconsistent time at Newcastle to become one of the Premier League's most sought-after talents.
Birmingham failed to secure his signature in a £9million deal last summer due to not reaching an agreement over personal terms, whilst the Magpies failed to lure him back to Tyneside with a last-minute bid on January transfer deadline day.
Several clubs, including the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old at the end of the season.
And N'Zogbia admits that once he was done all he can to keep his current team in the Premier League, he will be looking at his options in the close-season.
"At the start Wigan was a springboard club for me," he said.
"But I've been here two years and I want to do everything possible to keep the club in the Premier League.
"I'll finish this season and then look at my future."
On his proposed move to St Andrews last year, N'Zogbia stated that he had no bones about the decision to stay at the DW Stadium.
"I have no regrets," he added.
"I have my reasons for not going to Birmingham, who were the only club to have made an offer."
