Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has explained his decision to allow Marlon Harewood to join Barnsley on loan.
Harewood has moved to Oakwell in order to play first-team football, but the deal has backfired on Blackpool after DJ Campbell's red card against Wolves at the weekend.
With Campbell now suspended for three games, a shortage of strikers has emerged at Bloomfield Road at a time when the club are being sucked towards Premier League relegation.
Harewood, who made his Barnsley debut against Norwich on Saturday, cannot be recalled until he has spent 28 days at Oakwell, but Holloway is not panicking.
Having also allowed Rob Edwards' loan to Norwich, Holloway told the Blackpool Gazette: "He (Harewood) and Rob both felt they needed football to get fit because of a lack of playing time over the last year or so.
"Marlon in the reserves isn't the same animal as Marlon in the first team, so I have got him some games at Barnsley and we'll look at it in 28 days."
Harewood started the 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in mid-February and has featured in the first XI on seven occasions in total this season.
