Gunners midfielder still recovering from knee injury

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Alex Song will not be fit to return from injury for Arsenal's next game against West Bromwich Albion. Song has missed the Gunners' last four matches after picking up a knee problem in last month's Carling Cup final defeat by Birmingham City. The midfielder's absence was felt in the UEFA Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona and the weekend's FA Cup reverse at Manchester United. Arsenal lost Johan Djourou to a season-ending shoulder injury at Old Trafford and were also without the influence of captain Cesc Fabregas. Wenger admits Song's presence has been missed and he does not anticipate the Cameroon international being available for the trip to West Brom on Saturday. "I don't think it's down to one player," said the Arsenal manager. "We would like Song back and we would like Fabregas back. We have now to cope with Djourou [being] out and he is an outstanding player. "I don't know [when Song will be fit again]. But certainly not for Saturday."
