Cardiff City have approached Coventry City about signing striker Marlon King, skysports.com can confirm.
The 30-year-old has been in great form in recent weeks with five goals in his last seven games.
His current deal is set to expire in the summer which has seen a host of clubs check on him.
Stoke, Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers are all thought to be keen on the former Watford and Wigan ace.
However, Cardiff are looking to secure a deal now in order to bolster their promotion push.
His agent Tony Finnigan has confirmed to skysports.com that Cardiff have approached Coventry.
"There has been dialogue between Cardiff and Coventry, that is true," Finnigan confirmed.
"If the two clubs reach agreement, then talks may happen - but that is not up to us and Marlon is more than happy at Coventry.
"Marlon has been playing really well and since signing for Coventry has proven what a top striker he is.
"He is out of contract in the summer that is no secret, but neither has been his desire to open talks over a new deal."
