Brazil striker intends to stay at Santos

Brazil striker Neymar has admitted he would like to play for Barcelona but intends to honour his contract with Santos. The 19-year-old, who scored twice for Brazil in their 2-0 victory over Scotland on Sunday, is one of the most coveted youngsters in world football. A number of Europe's top clubs have been keeping tabs on his situation and Neymar admitted earlier this week it was a dream of his to play for Chelsea in the Premier League. He has now confessed that he finds the thought of joining Barca similarly appealing, but does not want to rush into anything. Santos president Luis Alvaro Ribeiro de Oliverira has urged the in-demand forward to resist foreign approaches and try to become the game's best player whilst still plying his trade in Brazil. And Neymar has no plans to leave the club, despite being quoted as saying on the Marca website: "All players would like to play for Barcelona and I'm no different. "It is an issue that we must treat with care. I have a contract with Santos and intend to stay here."
