Blackburn boss Steve Kean admitted his frustration after watching his side crash to a 2-0 defeat at Everton.
Second-half goals from Leon Osman and Leighton Baines plunged Rovers further into Premier League relegation trouble at Goodison Park.
Kean's side, without a win in nine games, are now just two points above the drop zone with five games of the season remaining.
But the Rovers boss was optimistic that they can drag themselves away with two home games against Manchester City and Bolton to come.
Frustration
He told
Sky Sports: "It was massive frustration because I thought we did really well in the first half and then we lose a goal from a set-play.
"I thought we were going to get back into the game and then obviously we lost a goal from a penalty and I've seen it again and I think it was a penalty.
"But I thought in the first half, we were excellent in the fact that we minimised the chances that Everton had and probably deserved to be in the lead at half-time, but it wasn't to be.
"We were vastly disappointed with the second half. We had to chase the game a little bit and stick on another striker and forfeit a bit of ground in the middle of the pitch for the last 10 minutes just to try and get back into the game.
"We had a chance which dropped to Morten Gamst Pedersen, but he never quite caught it.
"We'll get down to some hard work on the training ground and we have two home games coming up and we'll look forward to them."
Asked how confident he is with Rovers' chances of staying in the Premier League, Kean replied: "We've been very good at Ewood. We came into today's game on the back of a three-game unbeaten run, be it only draws, but we'll have to pick up the momentum again.
"We've only lost seven games out of 40-odd at Ewood Park, so we're confident of putting some points on the board in the next few games."
