Tractor Boys boss holds more discussions with skipper

Manager Paul Jewell remains hopeful of keeping captain David Norris at Ipswich beyond the end of the season. The skipper's future at Portman Road has appeared in doubt over recent weeks, with his agent indicating that Jewell can plan 'without Norris' for next term. The 30-year-old, who is out of contract with the Tractor Boys in the summer, was targeted by Portsmouth and Crystal Palace in the January transfer window, but Town managed to keep hold of the midfielder. And Jewell says he is doing everything in his power to retain Norris' services at the end of the season. "I spoke to Chuck (Norris) yesterday," Jewell told Green 'Un 24. "We are trying to sign all the players that we want to sign. "If they all sign, I'll be delighted, but if they don't sign then that's their prerogative and we will move on. But I'd like to move on with those players. "I spoke to Chuck's agent last week and I spoke to Chuck yesterday. We are trying to get something done." He added: "We want to keep them here, we are desperate to keep them here, but if we don't we'll have to learn from our mistakes that have led to ourselves being vulnerable to this occasion."
