Newcastle full-back Danny Simpson has warned the club to focus on staying up and feels that they are not completely safe yet.
The Magpies went seven points clear of the drop zone following their draw with Manchester United on Tuesday, with safety now looking likely with just five games remaining.
Alan Pardew's team stay in the top half, with a tight battle for places going on below them, but with 15 points still to play for this season, there is no guarantee of safety just yet.
Newcastle head to Blackpool on Saturday knowing that another victory will see them further their ambition to reach a top-half finish in their first season back in the top flight, but Simpson warned his side not to get complacent.
"We don't want to go to Blackpool and waste this point," he told the Northern Echo.
"We don't want to make this result into a bad one by losing there. It's going to be a tough game, we went there last season and lost.
"That will be in our thoughts when we go there because we didn't like that result.
"They have beaten us up here this season so we need to go there and get some revenge.
"They are down at the bottom and they will give it their all, but we are not easing off.
"We've still got to get some more points on the board and hopefully end the season with a bit of momentum for next time."
