Michael Owen believes the pressure on Arsene Wenger at Arsenal merely highlights the exceptional job Sir Alex Ferguson has done at Manchester United.
The Gunners will be condemned to a sixth season without silverware should they lose to United at Emirates Stadium on Sunday and see their slim Premier League title chances disappear.
Their barren run has prompted some to question Wenger's position, with a number of fans feeling it is time for Arsenal to replace the Frenchman, who has been at the helm of the North London club since 1996.
United striker Owen feels the fact that such a suggestion has even surfaced considering how Wenger has guided the Gunners' fortunes down the years only serves to emphasise Ferguson's success.
"Arsene Wenger is one of the best managers to have ever managed in the Premier League," said Owen.
"He has turned the club around and done fantastically well over the years.
"It just highlights what our manager has done.
"The success he has had here in such a fiercely competitive business such as this is amazing."
United need three points against Arsenal this weekend to keep second-placed Chelsea at bay, but Owen is aware the Gunners will have incentives of their own on Sunday.
"Arsenal are probably thinking they have to beat us this weekend to keep their
chances alive," he added.
"That is what makes it such a good game.
"We must have the attitude of trying to get three points.
"It is not only about Arsenal. Chelsea can also win the league. That is why we have to think only about ourselves."
