Pablo Zabaleta does not want speculation about Carlos Tevez to distract Manchester City in the closing stages of what could be a season to remember.
Roberto Mancini's side are preparing for an FA Cup final against Stoke and are close to achieving their goal of UEFA Champions League qualification via a top-four finish in the Premier League.
But Tevez is in a race against time to recover from a hamstring injury before the end of the campaign, while reports continue to suggest he could leave England in the summer.
Fellow Argentine Zabaleta thinks the conjecture, along with rumours about Mancini's own future, is an unnecessary disruption and he wants to focus on winning matches.
Ahead of Sunday's home game against West Ham, the defender said in the Daily Star: "I've seen Carlos and he looks very well. He was very happy and he's making a full and speedy recovery.
"It's difficult to say when he will be fit - we don't know and he doesn't know. But we want to see Carlos fit for the final.
"He's a great player for us and has had a great season. He's doing everything to try to get back in time. Everyone knows him as a character and a player. He wants to play every single game.
"But now is not a good time to talk about whether Carlos will be here, or the manager will be here. We'll talk about that in the summer."
