Hull City boss Nigel Pearson believes he has landed a star in the making after agreeing a deal for Joe Dudgeon.
The youngster has spent the week at the club completing a medical, with a £300,000 for the Manchester United left-back set to be completed on Monday.
The arrival of the 20-year-old continues the recent influx of United youth products at the KC Stadium, with Dudgeon following in the footsteps of Cameron Stewart, James Chester and Corry Evans in agreeing a deal.
With the Tigers now blessed with youthful exuberance going in to next season, Pearson believes the acquisition of Dudgeon will give supporters another reason to be positive ahead of a new campaign.
"Joe's another very promising player, I think he will be a really good addition to the squad," Pearson told the Hull Daily Mail.
"He's gone through his medical now and hopefully that will be done on Monday.
"He's an exciting player but he can certainly put his foot in as well. He plays left-back for the most part but he can play a little bit further up as well."
Despite a number of recent deals seemingly signalling a new youth movement at the club, Pearson insists that he will also be looking to land experience in the transfer window.
The manager also hinted that the club would look to strike while the iron was hot when it came to bringing new faces to the KC Stadium.
He added: "It's good for us that we can bring young players of their calibre in.
"We'll try and get the blend right in how we go about adding to the squad.
"It won't be all young players, we'll try and get some experience as well. It won't be a case of waiting, we are active at the moment."
