Rangers defender Sasa Papac insists that star striker Nikica Jelavic has told him that he is staying for the foreseeable future.
The Croatia international has made a huge impact in his first season in SPL football, scoring 16 league goals while he also netted the winner in their Co-operative Insurance final success over Celtic.
Papac recently committed his future to Ibrox by penning a one-year deal and despite speculation mounting over Jelavic, the stopper believes there will be no summer exit for his team-mate.
Rangers have a number of players who can win games for the club, but Papac thinks Jelavic is a 'special' player who is a match-winner in his own right.
"It's very important that Nikica stays because he is a special player for us," said Papac.
"When you put him together with Kyle Lafferty and Stevie Naismith they are unbelievable - they can score against any team.
"But Nikica is a player who can win games on his own. If it's 0-0 he can take a free-kick or something like that and get us all three points.
"It is very important to the team to have a player like this. He has adapted more quickly than I expected. He has been great, from his first game, he has been unbelievable.
"Nikica told me this has been the best thing that's ever happened in his career. He doesn't want to leave - he wants to stay here for another couple of years."
