El Hadji Diouf admits it would be a 'fantastic thing' to be re-united with old boss Sam Allardyce.

Out-of-favour Blackburn striker would love a reunion with old boss

Out-of-favour Blackburn striker El Hadji Diouf admits it would be a 'fantastic thing' to be re-united with old boss Sam Allardyce at Upton Park. The Senegalese striker is due to return to Ewood Park in the summer after spending the second half of the season on loan with SPL champions Rangers. But Steve Kean, who replaced Allardyce as Rovers boss following Venky's takeover at Ewood Park, has warned the 30-year-old he will have limited opportunities at the club next term. Diouf, who has a year left on his contract at Blackburn, admits he would love a reunion with Allardyce, having also played under the ex-Newcastle boss at Bolton.

Return

Preparing for his holiday in Africa, Diouf told skysports.com: "I have finished my loan so I am expecting to return to England with Blackburn. "I am 30 years old, I want to play week in, week out these days. "Working with Sam? That would be a fantastic thing to do. Sam is a fantastic manager and very good man. I would be delighted to work under him again."
