Young Dutch striker chooses to leave Hamilton

Nigel Hasselbaink's agent claims the Hamilton striker is set to sign for St Mirren. The 20-year-old Dutchman, the nephew of former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd, signed for Hamilton last summer after being released by PSV Eindhoven. He went on to make 28 appearances as the Accies finished bottom of the SPL, scoring three goals in the league and another in the Scottish Cup. Hasselbaink's agent Humphrey Nijman insists there has been plenty of interest in his client since the end of the season. And the youngster has opted for Saints, who finished second-bottom in the SPL, with a one-year deal set to be finalised next week.

Options

"Nigel had some other options, but we agreed terms with St Mirren and he is happy with that," Nijman told the Scottish Sun. "He was impressed by what they say and I'm sure St Mirren will do better next season than the last one."
