James Milner has taken the blame for the second goal England conceded against Switzerland on Saturday.
The Three Lions played out a 2-2 draw versus the Swiss, fighting back from two goals down in their Euro 2012 qualifier.
England goalkeeper Joe Hart was criticised by some after being beaten by Tranquillo Barnetta's free-kick at his near post on 35 minutes.
But Milner has admitted he was at fault for the strike, the midfielder guilty of creating space in the two-man wall for the ball to squeeze through.
He said in the Daily Mirror: "I thought they were going to take it short so I moved out of the wall giving Harty (Joe Hart) no chance. So I was poor as well.
"I hold my hands up for the second goal. But it is how you react to that, and I thought we reacted well.
"But we will have a rest now then come back and try to improve again and play our hearts out. It is in our hands if we win those three games.
"We are more than capable of beating anybody on our day so we have got to learn from our mistakes and prove it."
Milner added: "There are no excuses. We were slow out of the blocks and gave away a couple of soft goals. But all credit to the lads, we bounced back quickly.
"In the second half we had more than enough chances to win. If we were not getting them I would be a bit more worried about not winning games.
"But we can take a couple of positives."
