Aleksandar Kolarov insists he has no regrets about joining Manchester City - despite turning down Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
A number of top European clubs were interested in securing the services of the Serbian left-back last summer.
The 25-year-old was ready to move on after three years with Lazio.
He ultimately chose to join big-spending City, signing a five-year deal at Eastlands for a fee of around £19million.
Although Kolarov appeared in City's FA Cup-winning side and helped them qualify for the UEFA Champions League, some are unconvinced he is a long-term option at left-back.
But he claims he is looking forward to helping City progress again next term and has had no thoughts about what might have been.
"I really can't say that I regret that I signed for City," he told Sportske.
"It is true, Real and Inter were interested in me, but City showed the biggest will and wish to sign me.
"They told me immediately about their big ambitions, they explained to me that they want to be the best club in England in the next two years, and of course, that matched my ambitions.
"Real and Inter are great clubs that I truly respect but I play for such a great club. I'm really happy at City."
