Swansea will turn their attention to securing their young stars on long-term deals after completing their summer business.
Nathan Dyer and Joe Allen are among those who have just a year left on their current contracts.
And the newly-promoted Premier League club are eager to avoid a repeat of this summer, which has seen a host of players become free agents after their contracts ran down.
The Swans are still looking at improving their squad but once manager Brendan Rodgers returns from his charity climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, chairman Huw Jenkins insists he will try to tie down the likes of Dyer, 23 and Allen, 21, to contract extensions.
"When Brendan gets back we'll look at various options with players," Jenkins told the
South Wales Evening Post.
Contract issues
"First and foremost, it's about strengthening in key areas.
"Then we can look further down the order at various individual contract issues before the season starts."
Jenkins has seen the likes of Angel Rangel, Dorus de Vries and Darren Pratley become free agents this summer.
Rangel and De Vries are currently considering fresh offers from Swansea but Pratley looks destined to join Bolton.
And while securing the future of Dyer and Allen is currently on the agenda, Jenkins explained Swansea may wait to discuss the situation of other players.
"With some players it might have to be looked at during the season," added Jenkins.
"We will have to wait until we sit down with players, and each one will be judged on its own merits.
"We want to keep all our good players, but I can't predict what will happen in the future."
