Zamparini waiting to see whether Villas-Boas will move for Pastore

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is waiting to see whether Chelsea will follow up their interest in Javier Pastore. The Blues have been linked with the Argentine playmaker for some time, with a clutch of top clubs understood to be chasing his signature. Goings on at Stamford Bridge have cast doubt over their continued interest, though, with Andre Villas-Boas having inherited the managerial reins. He is yet to decide what his transfer plans will be, with it his intention to cast an eye over those already at his disposal before looking to bring anyone else in. Chelsea could still opt to join the race for Pastore, but Zamparini has warned that they will face stiff competition for the South American should they choose to pursue him. "Pastore is absolutely a top player and there are three or four clubs tracking him," he told Radio Kiss Kiss. "Chelsea are among them, but we have to see what their new coach Andre Villas-Boas has to say."
