Palace midfielder wanted by Championship new boys

Skysports.com understands Brighton & Hove Albion have made a bid for Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan. The 23-year-old joined Palace last summer from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee and was initially a regular in the team under former manager George Burley. However, he struggled for opportunities in the second half of the season after Dougie Freedman replaced Burley as boss at Selhurst Park in January. Freedman reassured Garvan that he still had a future at Palace towards the end of the last campaign, but Brighton are now showing an interest. The Seagulls are looking to make a splash in the Championship next season and have identified Garvan as a player who could help Gus Poyet's side to make an impact.
