Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill insists there is no deadline for veteran defender Hermann Hreidarsson to sign a new contract.
Hreidarsson has been offered a 12-month extension to stay at Fratton Park, but has yet to make a decision ahead of Pompey returning for pre-season training.
Talks are ongoing with chief executive David Lampitt, but Cotterill is not worrying about having to wait for the Icelandic stopper to decide.
"It is with David Lampitt and they are chewing over terms still," Cotterill told The News.
"It is not a problem, there is no big sweat there. It isn't anything I am worried about.
"There is no deadline for Hermann to sign - I don't need to do that. We'll just see what happens."
Meanwhile, Cotterill says he has not heard from David Nugent following reports the striker is set to join Championship rivals Leicester City on a free transfer.
Cotterill added: "I haven't heard anything from David.
"I know he's away on holiday at the moment because somebody bumped into him the other day who I know.
"He hasn't told us what his decision is. But I think at the end of the day David will tell me as and when it is right. That situation hasn't stopped me going after other players, though."
