Juventus remain determined to sign Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero, while they are also still interested in Mirko Vucinic, Lassana Diarra and Arturo Vidal.
Aguero has confirmed that he wants to leave Atletico this summer and he has been linked with a controversial move across Spain's capital to Real Madrid.
But Juventus have also held a long-term interest in the Argentina forward and the Italian club will only admit defeat if they are financially outmuscled in the transfer market.
Chief officer Beppe Marotta told Tuttosport: "If he doesn't arrive, it will be due to another offer out of our reach.
"We will surely sign a top player. We have decided to utilise a big part of our budget for a player."
After finishing in a disappointing seventh position in Serie A last season, Juventus are determined to reshape their squad in order to compete both at home and abroad.
Roma striker Vucinic is another who is a target, but Marotta is not prepared to blow the club's budget on the Montenegro international.
He said: "I have no problems in saying we like him a lot. But he's a Roma player and we have not spoken directly with the club.
"Vucinic is an interesting player. But we are not ready to make important financial sacrifices for him."
Real Madrid midfielder Diarra and Bayer Leverkusen's Vidal have also been linked with moves to Italy.
Juventus are again considering both players, but Vidal is considered a more realistic target because it is perceived the Chile international would want to progress his career.
"They are at the same level, for the moment," said Marotta. "But an evaluation must be done. For Vidal, Juve is an aim. His motivations are absolutely more than Diarra's.
"The French player, playing at Real, has already tasted something. Let's hope to be able to sign one of them."
Marotta, though, concedes that any signings may well depend on Juventus' ability to offload some members of their existing squad.
He said: "We have clear ideas. But it must always be considered that aims are bounded by the sale of our other players."
