Andrew Taylor believes he has joined a club 'waiting to be in the Premier League' after signing a three-year contract at Cardiff City.
Skysports.com revealed last week that Cardiff had won the race to sign Taylor after he turned down a new contract at Middlesbrough.
Taylor, who can play in defence or midfield, impressed under Malky Mackay during a loan spell at Watford last season and is looking forward to working with the Bluebirds boss again.
He is also keen to test himself in the top flight again and feels he has joined a club capable of challenging for promotion from the Championship next season.
"I want to be playing back in the Premier League and I think this club is a club waiting to be in the Premier League," Taylor told the club's official website.
"It's got the right facilities and the right fan base and hopefully we can to do it this season. I just felt it was time for a change. I had been at Middlesbrough since I was nine years old.
"I really enjoyed my time at Watford. As soon as I heard he (Mackay) was interested it was something that immediately appealed."
