Brest will not part with Nolan Roux on the cheap and are also looking to keep Bruno Grougi and Paul Baysse.

Having successfully avoided the drop in 2010/11, the Ligue 1 outfit have seen a number of their players draw admiring glances from afar.

Promising frontman Roux is attracting the most attention, with German giants Schalke said to be closing on the 23-year-old's signature.

Brest, though, have made it clear that they will not part with their most potent attacking weapon for less than €8million (£7.2m).

"The Roux clause has to be respected by both sides," club chairman Michel Guyot told L'Equipe.

"It is €8million and not 50 cents less. As long as that valuation is not met, he will remain at Brest."

Waiting

Guyot has also sought to play down speculation suggesting highly-rated playmaker Grougi and defensive ace Baysse could soon be on their way out of the club.

"Grougi? We are waiting for an offer because there hasn't been one so far," he said.

"If an offer is made and it suits us, we might do business. If something happens we will look for a replacement immediately."

He added: "Baysse? Paul is non-transferable. We won't let key men depart and leave coach Alex Dupont short on numbers."
