Tigers youngster aims for October return

Young Hull winger Cameron Stewart hopes to return to action in October as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. The 20-year-old has not featured for the Tigers since February, when he sustained knee ligament damage during their 1-1 draw with Ipswich. Stewart has spent the summer at the Yorkshire club's training ground working on his fitness, and has now set a target for his recovery. "Things are progressing well and I've started to do more in the gym," he told Hull's official website. "I'm not quite running yet, but things seem to be coming along well. "I had about a week off, but apart from that I've been at the training ground working with Richard Garcia and trying to get my leg strong again. "It's a shame that he's injured as well, but having Richard around has helped me. He's been through it before and him being there has been a real help.

Hopeful

"Hopefully I can start running in a couple of weeks, start training in September and be back playing in October. "That is what I hope, but obviously you never know." Stewart signed at Hull from boyhood club Manchester United at the end of January after impressing while on loan at the KC Stadium. However, he only made four appearances as a permanent Tigers player before injury cut his season short.
