Scottish champions target Australia international

Skysports.com understands that Rangers are interested in Australia international Mile Jedinak. New Gers boss Ally McCoist is keen to freshen up his squad on a limited budget after taking the reins from Walter Smith. And Jedinak is available on a free transfer after leaving Turkish club Genclerbirligi earlier this summer. Championship side Crystal Palace are also keen on the 26-year-old midfielder but Rangers are leading the race. The Scottish champions are believed to have expressed an interest in the 26-cap international, who shone as Australia reached the final of the Asian Cup in January. Jedinak left the Central Coast Mariners for Turkey in January 2009 and upon leaving Genclerbirligi has said he was eager to test himself in one of Europe's bigger leagues.
