Striker in China for talks over possible move

Skysports.com understands former Blackpool striker Marlon Harewood is considering a move to China. Harewood, who is available on a free transfer having been released by Blackpool at the end of the season, has jetted out to China to hold talks with Shenzhen Phoenix about a possible move. A number of English clubs are keen on signing Harewood with the likes of Millwall, Reading and Notts County all expressing an interest in signing the former Nottingham Forest man. However, Phoenix are hoping to lure Harewood to China's Super League with a lucrative offer and the player is out in the Far East talking to the club. Harewood's agent, Phil Sproson, has confirmed the striker is weighing up an offer to join Phoenix. "We have been invited by Shenzhen Phoenix to have a look at the club and get a feel for the place," Sproson told skysports.com. "They are keen on signing on Marlon and the set-up here is first class. "Everyone at the club has looked after us really well and Marlon will soon make a decision on whether he wants to join Phoenix."
