League One play-off finalists sign Wednesday midfielder on a free

Huddersfield have confirmed the signing of experienced midfielder Tommy Miller. The 32-year-old arrives at the Galpharm Stadium on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday, signing a one-year deal with the Terriers. Miller scored 11 goals in 41 appearances for League One rivals Wednesday last season and has played in the Premier League for Ipswich and Sunderland. "As soon as we spoke to Tommy about a move his desire to come to the club and prove himself became evident," Huddersfield boss Lee Clark told the club's official website. "Understandably, players are always after long-term contracts but Tommy was more than happy to sign a one-year deal.

High-energy

"Tommy is a high-energy midfield player who has lots of experience at the highest level. We're delighted to have him. "He scored 11 goals last season without playing in every game so we know he offers us that, but the experience he brings to the midfield department is equally important." Miller began his career with Hartlepool before making a £750,000 move to Ipswich in 2001, where he also played in the Uefa Cup. After two years with Sunderland he returned to Ipswich in 2007 before joining Wednesday in 2009. Miller has now racked up a total of 481 appearances during his career, scoring 106 goals.
