Experienced defender moves to Keepmoat on short-term deal

Doncaster have bolstered their squad ahead of the new season by bringing in experienced defender Richard Naylor on a short-term contract. The former Ipswich man makes the move to the Keepmoat Stadium as a free agent after his contract with Leeds came to an end this summer. Naylor, who was club captain at Elland Road, was shown the door by Simon Grayson as he could no longer guarantee the veteran regular first-team action. Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll has now moved to secure the services of the no-nonsense defender prior to the new Championship campaign getting under way. A statement on the club's official website read: "Doncaster Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of former Leeds United defender Richard Naylor. "The 34-year-old joins Doncaster Rovers on a short-term contract."
