Florent Malouda has challenged Chelsea to set the pace in the Premier League title race right from the opening weekend of the season.
The Blues began the 2010/11 campaign in imperious fashion, thumping West Brom and Wigan 6-0 en route to winning their first five matches.
A dramatic loss of form in November and December proved costly to their hopes of finishing top, but Malouda recognises the importance of once again making a fast start.
The work that is done now on the training ground will hold Chelsea in good stead when they kick off the new season with an away game against Stoke on 14th August and Malouda is targeting three points at the Britannia Stadium.
"In pre-season, individually and as a group, everybody has to be focused on our training and we have to get back to full fitness because we have to start well," the French midfielder told the club's official website.
"We know we start in the Premier League with an away game and we know we have to be in condition to win that game and to try to be on top of the league from the beginning."
