Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood admits he is desperate to add to his attacking options before Sunday's big kick-off.
Hibs open the new season at home to Celtic and with Akpo Sodje set to miss the game with a knee injury, their manager is getting anxious.
CSKA Sofia's former Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan has been on trial at Easter Road, so too Ghana international Junior Agogo, who played under Calderwood at Nottingham Forest.
The Hibs boss is keen to agree deals with the strike pair but has a battle on his hands to have them available in time to face Celtic.
"We've made an offer to Cillian and his agent," Calderwood said.
"But really the offer is to the other club so they are digesting that and we are waiting to hear back from them.
"Junior is still here; we are waiting for clearance to get him ready to be available for us.
"He is in good condition, actually, so there was a little hold up in not being able to play against Falkirk. But ongoing, I think it will be very exciting for us."
Hibs drew 1-1 in a friendly with Falkirk on Tuesday night, a game Agogo missed as there is confusion over his contract status after leaving Apollon Limassol in February.
The Cypriot club released Agogo following a knee injury, from which the 31-year-old striker has now recovered, but it is unclear if he is now a free agent.
