Slovakia midfielder Filip Kiss is closing on a season-long loan move to Cardiff City.
The 20-year-old is set to pen a contract with the Bluebirds after helping Slovan Bratislava claim a domestic league and cup double last season.
He is looking forward to the new challenge with Malky Mackay's side, even though it is tough for him to be leaving Slovan.
He told the club's official website: "Everything happened very fast and, to be honest, I didn't even expect things to take such a swift course.
"Cardiff had shown interest in me in the past but only now have things moved forward. Three days ago I learned that it might come off but did not want to speak about it until the main points of the transfer were sorted out.
"Slovan did not want me to make a permanent move so in the end both clubs agreed on a year-long loan spell."
Kiss is expecting to watch Cardiff's friendly against Celtic on Wednesday night before completing his move.
"Medical checks and contract negotiations are waiting for me. Verbally, we are agreed on conditions, so I believe nothing unexpected will happen. The team started pre-season two weeks ago and after going through all the formalities I should join them in training," the 20-year-old said.
"I am a little bit sad not to be able to take part in the Champions League qualification but you don't get an offer to play in an English league every day.
"In terms of quality of football and professionalism, this is a different level. Cardiff have a new 27,000 all-seater which is always full of people. I am very much looking forward to playing there. I would like to move forward in my career and will be happy if I manage to achieve that."
