Auxerre and Delvin Ndinga are keen for Lyon to let them know where they stand regarding a transfer.
Ligue 1 giants Lyon have been tracking Ndinga for much of the summer, but have yet to put a deal in place.
The Congo international is keen on securing a move to Stade Gerland, despite having three years left to run on his contract at Auxerre.
His current employers have refused to rule out the possibility of sanctioning a sale, but they have warned Lyon that they need to act fast if they want to do business.
Auxerre chairman Gerard Bourguoin told
L'Equipe: "Eventually these games have to stop. All they are achieving is making the player unsettled.
Conditions
"Out of respect for him (Ndinga) I have opened the door, but there are conditions.
"The fact that he is Congolese does not mean that we have to accept a low bid. If he was French, he would be in the French team."
While Auxerre believe Lyon are to blame for the delay, Ndinga feels that his club are demanding too much money for his services.
He said: "The chairman is right to say that I have been unsettled. It has started to make me mad. I want to know whether I will be staying or going to Lyon.
"I know Lyon have made an effort and I believe I will wear their colours. However, 10million euros is a lot to ask for."
