Captain Billy Kee scored a hat-trick as Northern Ireland's Under-21s eased to a 4-0 victory over the Faroe Islands in their Euro 2013 qualifier at The Oval.
Steve Beaglehole's side were held to a disappointing goalless draw by the same opponents in their Group 4 opener, but got their campaign going with a solid performance.
Torquay striker Kee, who had not scored in six appearances before Wednesday, opened his account with a fine first-time effort in the 24th minute, before drilling in a low shot from just outside the area three minutes later.
Strike partner Josh Magennis of Aberdeen made it three after half an hour, showing good control to turn his man and convert from six yards.
After the interval, Kee missed an open goal from the edge of the box before tucking home from close range to complete his hat-trick.
The impressive James Knowles of Blackburn hobbled off injured before the whistle, leaving Northern Ireland with 10 men after using all three substitutes.
