Jake Livermore hopes starring in Tottenham's Europa League campaign will catch the eye of boss Harry Redknapp.
The 21-year-old has had to be content with spending the last two years on loan to Championship sides, but has been a strong performer in Spurs' pre-season.
Redknapp will give priority in the league to several of his first-teamers, which could work in Livermore's favour after he was pinpointed as one of those to feature in the north Londoner's European campaign if they come through their play-off game with Hearts later this month.
"I'm hoping the Europa League can be a little shop window for me where I can get some games and show the manager what I can do," the midfielder said.
"Hopefully from there I can start getting some Premier League starts and cement a place."
Livermore has made just one start since his move from MK Dons three years ago and spent the last two months of the season on loan at Leeds.
And he is relishing the chance to feature in his club's European campaign having seen the side line-up against the likes of both Milan giants and Real Madrid last term.
"Obviously you want to test yourself against those sorts of players," he added.
"As a kid you either want to play for them or against those sorts of teams. It was good to watch the lads play them."
