Xisco: Set to take in a third spell at the Riazor

Out of favour Newcastle forward Xisco has returned to former employers Deportivo La Coruna for a third spell.

The Spanish outfit have announced that the 25-year-old will be officially unveiled on Thursday evening.

He has successfully passed a medical, allowing him to put the finishing touches to a deal.

Xisco made his name on the books at Depor, after graduating out of their academy system.

Between 2004 and 2008 he became a first-team regular, earning him international recognition with Spain's U21 side.

A move to Newcastle was secured in 2008, but he struggled to settle in England and quickly slipped down the pecking order at St James' Park.

Promotion push

He spent the 2009/10 campaign with Racing Santander, before returning to Depor on loan last term.

Xisco was unable to prevent the club from slipping out of the Primera Liga, but is prepared to join their promotion push in 2011/12.

His team-mates are expecting him to settle in quickly, with goalkeeper Daniel Aranzubia delighted to see a familiar face back at the Riazor.

He told the club's official website: "He (Xisco) is a player than knows us and the club.

"The process of adaptation for him will be minimal."
