Robinson happy to bring in Spurs full-back on loan

MK Dons have completed the signing of Tottenham Hotspur full-back Adam Smith on a season-long loan deal. Smith had been attracting the interest of several clubs after impressing during a loan spell in League One with Bournemouth last term. He was waiting until his participation with England at the Under 20 World Cup in Colombia was over before deciding on his next move and has now opted to join MK Dons. The 20-year-old will go straight into the squad for Tuesday's game against Yeovil Town and Dons boss Karl Robinson is happy to have signed Smith.

Talented

"Adam is a young full-back who adds strength and quality to our side," Robinson told the club's official website. "He has already proven he can cope at this level and possibly should even be playing in the Championship. "We're very fortunate to have acquired his services because a lot of clubs were looking at him, but thankfully we were able to hold out until he came back from the Under 20s World Cup and I think it was worth waiting for a talented player." Smith played against MK Dons twice for Bournemouth last season and he has also previously undertaken loan spells at Torquay United and Wycombe Wanderers.
