PSV full-back would be keen on a move to the Premier League

PSV Eindhoven full-back Erik Pieters admits he is still waiting to discover whether he will be joining Newcastle United before the close of the transfer window. Pieters has been heavily linked with a move to St James' Park as a replacement for Jose Enrique after the Spaniard was sold to Liverpool. Magpies boss Alan Pardew watched the 23-year-old in action for PSV against ADO Den Haag on Sunday and is pondering a £6million bid. The Dutch club have previously suggested they would not be able to stand in Pieters' way if the Holland international is offered a move to the Premier League. Pieters has confirmed he would be keen to play in England, but is waiting to hear from his agent regarding the prospects of a move. "The Premier League is a very good league to play in," Pieters told reporters after the victory over Den Haag. "I'm open to this step, it seems a great challenge. But if it fails, I am not disappointed. "My agent must report to me when it is really concrete. I have not heard yet, so I wait."
